Just started Swan - used to do TA a couple years ago. Please tell me I'm not the only one just starting out or feeling award when it comes to the floor work? I am a former dancer my whole life -- I love the opening arms sessions -- I just feel so awkward on the mat. And I didn't realize how tight my hips are! I guess you're supposed to focus on the things that don't come easily. This is a challenge for sure. Is there a Facebook group for community/encouragement?
Hi Jamie! I'm surprised no one has responded to your comment yet. I feel almost the opposite- I used to feel awkward doing TA floor moves. My frustration would win and I would just stop doing the moves when I felt they were getting too lengthy or awkward. With Carolina's movements, their purpose seems more apparent to my body. I also notice how tight my hips are. Tone 159 is one I do repeatedly because she focuses on opening them up. the only feedback I could offer on when it feels weird (and maybe it doesn't now because you posted this 3 months ago) is that you could try zooming in what part of the body is being worked and then dig into that very consciously. if you're still not feeling comfortable with moves, maybe try another sequence that you like better. That's my approach anyway- just to make sure I do something as often as possible.:) good luck!
i actually just saw this . I apologize for my delay. Are you girls still with me? If so, how is it feeling? Feeling ackward can be normal at first since you are learning how to move and flow in different planes of motions. That feeling will fade away with practice as you learn how to manage your own bodyweight on the mat
